Apple unleashes four new FaceTime ads (with video)
Apple’s FaceTime ads are really beautiful. They emphasize emotional connections we can create with (and through) our technological artifacts. The critical mass isn’t there yet (needs to be about 20% of my address book having an iPhone w/ FaceTime) for this to be a realistic way for us to communicate regularly.

I think the other limiting factor is that it (currently) only works over wifi, meaning that there’s a good chance you’ll be near a computer that would let you videoconference anyhow.
Still. When Gwen and I got our 3G iPhones two years ago, we instantly felt like we were living in the future. When we started playing with some of the features on the new iPhones, like Facetime, we got that feeling again.
